the love story (as told by Abbe) Alex and I met through a group of mutual friends, and it took about a year of our friends encouraging a relationship before we both finally complied. The rest seems like history. We both consider ourselves extremely blessed, despite the pandemic and change of plans, to be able to stand in a church before God and our families to make a promise to one another. The truth is, we almost did not get the chance to do this. We are eternally grateful to the neurosurgeons who were able to save Alex's life when he had an aneurysm rupture. We are so happy we have this opportunity and look forward to what the future holds for us. bridal prep The ladies arrived mostly ready, the finishing touches took place in the back room of the sweet little country church. The bridesmaids wore a variety of dresses in different shades of blue. Abbe wore a beautiful pocketed, A-line, grosgrain, off-shoulder gown, with buttons lining the whole back. Every wedding dress is special but this one was a little more so because it had been purchased by Abbe's late grandmother. Abbe's hair was elegantly swept off her neck and finished with pearls and eucalyptus leaves. She wore simple leave earrings and her grandmother's pearls. Abbe opted for fashion and comfort in a pair of pearl covered Converse. Her bouquet was a combination of white, cream and greens, wrapped in lace and finished with her grandmother's ring tied to the stems. ceremonyI had not met Abbe + Alex prior to their wedding day, but I instantly knew that Abbe was a laid back, joyful, fun-loving individual and these characteristics followed her throughout her ceremony and wedding day. The couple had their ceremony in a tiny little church in the middle of the country that many LaMarr's before them had also done the same in. There may or may not have been a little snafu in the hand off of the bride, but Abbe just laughed and laughed. She continued to give Alex the cutest grins throughout the ceremony and gave the best man a huge thumbs up when he handed over the rings in a tiny closed box and the pastor had to ask him to take them out 😆. bridal party mr + mrs We had some sneaky photo bombers 😆 reception The reception was held in downtown Wapak at The Venue at Anthony's and it was stunning! This was my first reception at The Venue and I was impressed. I love everything from the beautiful porch, the leopard carpeted stairs, to the stunning ballroom with a gorgeous chandelier and beautiful uplighting. The room was decorated with black table clothes, eucalyptus leaves, floating candles and blue and gold decorations. The meal was catered by Anthony's which is in the same building and was absolutely delicious! After dinner friends and family danced the night away to the sounds provided by Lillard's DJ Service.
