This sweet family braved the early hours of the morning to get the light of the sunrise in their images. Julie chose a location that was near and dear to her heart for this session. We headed out to the country to her great-grandmother’s old house. Julie thought it would be neat since she has so many great memories from childhood there and her daughter is named after her great-grandmother. Precious Opal is turning one. Opal had me on pins and needles as she precariously looked over the edge of the chair. She provided us with tons of smiles and a few early morning screams, lol, not mad screams, just screams to scream. Adults don’t you wish we could do that anytime we wanted to? Caleb was a great big brother and was amazingly patient. What a cute little guy!!

Meet Logan, one of my student representatives! I know you won’t believe this but…he’s a football player! Just kidding, I think anyone that looks at him would guess that! :) Pink isn't a color you think of when imaging a big tough football player, but Logan’s family has been touched by breast cancer, so they are big about breast cancer awareness, and I think that is REALLY cool! We started out his shoot exploring the family land which is full of country goodies. We walked through a horse pasture for some photos and with me prancing around trying to doge horse piles, and constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure the horses were still eating in the barn and not coming to visit me, I bet I looked like a real city slicker. (I know I've mentioned in other blogs that I’m allergic to anything with fur…ya, horses are the top of that list making my eyes swell shut and I can’t breathe…so I have an excuse people lol) All is well and I came out unscathed. Logan was game for anything I asked him and light on his toes. He was climbing wiggly gates, jumping over the pretty foliage in front of a pile of wood, and he even shimmied up the football goal post (his idea…not mine). I had to turn around for the goal post I thought he was going to break his neck!! I had a lot of fun with Logan and his mom and he is a very nice young man. Good luck your senior year Logan, I hope it is AWESOME!
What an adorable couple! Bobbi contacted me about doing their photos and told me her future sister in law, Michelle, had referred them. Turns out I went to school with her sister in law and even photographed her wedding a few years ago (no I don’t do weddings…yet. This was long before I ever considered having a business and would just help out friends and family) I have to admit though that I didn't realize Michelle even had a brother… SORRY Matthew I’m a little too *cough* old to have met you in school.
From the get go I explained that this is to be fun and natural with a few posed shots, but mainly wanted it to look like I wasn't even there. I told Matthew to whisper sweet nothings, or funny stories about farts, as long as they were smiling and laughing. He was a pro and did just that. Sometimes it can be super hard to keep kissing and kissing and kissing… in front of someone you don’t know well, but they did great!! Right at the end of the session we ran into a little kitty that decided he wanted to be friends. Bobbi who adores kitties was right at home with the little guy but Matthew and I felt differently. Don’t get me wrong folks I don’t wish harm on animals but I am allergic to anything with fur and this little guy thought he should be in the remaining pictures. I had to pose Matthew and Bobbi, then pick up the kitty drop him off half way across the yard, sprint back and try to snap the picture. Thankfully we were pretty much done so the shoot was a success even with the kitty photo bombs. I absolutely adore their session. Congratulations on your engagement you two! May you have many years of wedded bliss <3 |
